How to Get Started
SESSION 1: EMERGENCY BASICS (1 hour)
Learn DRABC protocol: Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing, Circulation - foundation of all first aid

Master calling 911: Know what information to provide, stay calm, follow dispatcher instructions
Practice checking for responsiveness: Tap and shout 'Are you okay?' - practice with family member
SESSION 2: BLEEDING & WOUNDS (45 minutes)
Learn direct pressure technique: Apply firm pressure with clean cloth, elevate if possible
Understand when to use tourniquet: Only for life-threatening bleeding, last resort
Practice bandaging: Watch tutorial on proper bandage application (YouTube: 'First Aid Bandaging')
Know signs of shock: Pale, cold, rapid pulse - keep person lying down, elevate legs
SESSION 3: CPR BASICS (1 hour)
Learn Hands-Only CPR: 100-120 compressions per minute, 2 inches deep (American Heart Association free course)
Practice on manikin or pillow: Get compression depth and rhythm right
Understand when to use: Unresponsive, not breathing normally - start immediately
Learn AED basics: Automated External Defibrillator use (many public places have them)
SESSION 4: COMMON EMERGENCIES (30 minutes)
Choking: Heimlich maneuver for adults, back blows for infants
Burns: Cool with running water, don't use ice, cover with clean cloth
